I Try To Be Strong

by: Michael Bruce

I try to be strong

-when things are all wrong

Life isn't fair

-sad like a country song

My children are the only reason

I moved back here

I have cried so many times

-I am left without a tear

People ask "mike"

-Are you ok?

Of course I am not

But I am strong because I pray

I know one day

-This pain too shall pass

And the tears will be for joy

-We can move on at last

We can finally have a chance

To reflect on life and mourn

And then we can start healing

And celebrate the day he was born

We can process all the sadness

and be thankful for the while

That God allowed our Cameron

-To bless us with his smile

And as I write this poem

And I feel the pain

I start with a tear drop

the rest they fall like rain
